Rosemary Howell

Dr Rosemary Howell has experience as a lawyer, strategic planner, teacher and CEO. She is admitted to practise as a Solicitor and Barrister in Victoria, and as a Solicitor in New South Wales, and has served a term as the Secretary General of the Law Council of Australia.
Through her company, Strategic Action Pty Ltd, established in 1985, Rosemary delivers strategic planning and human resources consulting to professional service businesses in six countries. Clients include State and Federal Government Departments, in-house legal departments, major corporate entities in the retail, insurance and financial services industries and a large range of professional service businesses including architects, law firms, engineers and accountants. Rosemary also works with her husband, Alan Limbury, to provide mediation services through Strategic-Resolution Pty Ltd.
Rosemary currently holds three Board positions, Collins Consulting Group among them.
In 2005 Rosemary was awarded her doctorate for her work on "Negotiating with Lawyers", a qualitative study of the experiences of those for whom and with whom lawyers negotiate..
As a result of teaching and studying in the Harvard Negotiation Program, Rosemary now teaches negotiation and dispute resolution at undergraduate and postgraduate level as a Professorial Visiting Fellow at the University of NSW and in 2009 established the University's Master of Dispute Resolution program. Rosemary also provides these programs to organisations as diverse as the Commonwealth Bank and the ACCC. Increasingly, Rosemary’s consulting work involves coaching business leaders in building and managing effective teams and repairing and enhancing working relationships.
